March’s Near-Death Experience Meeting hosted by IANDS (2020)
March 9 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Dr. Martha Jo Atkins wishes we didn’t make dying so complicated. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Master Coach, and author, Dr. Atkins teaches about dying and grief with gentleness and humor. For 30 years, she has worked with families, showing them a different way of being with loved ones at the end of their lives. She knows first-hand that when you are able to move from feeling inadequate and worrying about what happens next when someone is dying, to instead knowing what you’re seeing and connecting from there, profound change and peace can happen: the dying person feels supported; families become closer and forge deeper bonds.
Author of the book Signpost Of Dying, Dr Atkins shines a light on often ignored or unrecognized aspects of the dying process. Each signpost tells about the unique language and behaviors of the dying, providing a useful map for caregivers, mental health pros, and hospice volunteers.
Offering in-person and online education and retreats to individuals and groups, Dr Atkins helps people around the world learn about dying and how the experience of caring for a dying loved one can be connective, rich, peaceful and, above all, full of Love. Dr. Atkins’ TEDx Talk on this subject has been viewed over 895,000 times.
And this March, she is coming to Sacramento IANDS Group to talk to you!
